SafeWorld is proud to be a small family business that manufactures high-quality, helpful, sustainable products in the United States.

Ken Becker started SafeWorld in 1978 with his Safety Bear Reflector Program, which provided safety reflectors to schoolchildren in Alaska. In 1982, he encountered the Original CanGun design while traveling through England and began his career in the hardware industry shortly after. Ken – the magical, contagious personality, force and spirit behind the CanGun1 invention, as well as 30 years of marketing the Original CanGun – died from cancer in 2014.

Katie Becker, Ken’s wife, multimedia artist, and mother extraordinaire, took over SafeWorld from Ken and successfully expanded its operations. In the spring of 2026, Katie retired and passed the business to her and Ken’s son, Sam Becker.

Sam brings a wealth of project management experience to SafeWorld and is striving to build on the 40-year foundation his parents created with the same integrity, hard work, humor, and heart!
